California Dreamin'Aspirations of grandeur in the world of music have mirrored both young and old for hundreds of years. Living in a demographic area that is steeped in folklore from venues like Winterland, The Family Dog & The Fillmore Auditorium, Fillmore West & icons that permeated this musical wasteland so long ago make cultural acceptance obtuse in regards to media sensationalism and acceptance by those who denythe comtemporary power of selected musicians and subsequent music. At times, the abyss of glory past and the ghosts of noted luminaties tht defined The Counter Culture are essentially the retardant that makes growth of chosen bands hindered by the denizens and pundits of The Golden Age who are more concerned about where they've been rather than accepting the vision of where we are going. Having made that sojourn from impact bands and hallowed venues of five sets of breakfast @ The Fillmore or Winterland. Memories are a wonderful concept but best to make neoteric moments of joy than to conjure thoughts of 45 years ago. The Danny Click Band, Lansdale Station & Lynn Asher have sparked the resurgence and San Francisco as teh Valhalla of music that matter from the abyss of todays's banality on radio and video. Once upon a time in the west, few women could become the integral part of any band but that would change rapidly with Janice Lyn Joplin, Grace Waing Slick, Tracy Nelson, Annie Sampson, Lydia Pense and my friend Nancy Nevins of Sweetware fame. When we fast forward to the more docile demographics of today in San Francisco, the provocative, charismatic mante has been passed on to Tracy Blackman, Lauren Murphy & Lynn Asher.
